Dear Friend of ACI,
Membership and Hebrew School enrollment keep growing. We started offering a conversion class and a musical Tot Shabbat, and we received over $300,000 in government grants for security upgrades to our facility.
But like any institution, we need financial investment.
As the new calendar year begins, we hope you will consider becoming a dues-paying member if you still need to, and we extend a heartfelt thank you if you continue to support our congregation as a member. Whichever membership option you choose, we hope you will consider becoming a sustaining member of the Astoria Center of Israel.
Membership dues only account for 21% of the synagogue’s annual revenue, the rest of which we raise from rentals, fundraising, and program fees. A sustaining member chooses to pay the money it costs to run the synagogue if everyone’s dues covered 100% of the expenses. Here are the key details:
How Much Does It Cost? If you are open to paying a sustaining membership, the cost will be $3,850 ($3,600 base + $250 security fee).
What If I Am A Current Member? If you are a current member, fill out the form to update your preferences for your membership invoice.
What If I Am A New Member? Fill out the membership forms like normal, and you can select the sustaining membership option.
What If I Am an Associate Member? If you are an associate member, you have the option of being a “sustaining associate member” at $360.
As a thank you to those who choose a sustaining membership, there will be an invitation-only event with Rabbi Josh later in the year. The date is TBD.
On behalf of the lay leadership and staff at ACI, thank you for making 2025 a fantastic chapter in ACI’s history. We cannot wait to see what we will accomplish in 2026.
