Kabbalat Shabbat Tonight!
We're kicking off our summer season of Kabbalat Shabbat in Astoria Park! Join us at the War Memorial (map) tonight at 6:30pm as we trade the sanctuary for the open air. Yes, it's going to be hot, but we'll catch the breeze off the water as we welcome Shabbat.
Services will be followed by a vegetarian/vegan/dairy potluck, so bring something to share and a blanket or chair to relax.
More dates to remember:

Hebrew School Registration is Open!
You've read about our Hebrew School every week in this Flyer; now's your chance to be a part of it! Join us Tuesdays throughout the school year for kids from Kindergarten through Bar/Bat Mitzvah age.
Our program builds Hebrew skills, deepens understanding of Jewish history, holidays, and values, and grows lasting friendships, both among the kids and among the families who find each other through it! It's where holiday celebrations come alive, where kids develop their own relationship with Jewish tradition, and where they prepare for the milestones ahead.

Run (or Walk) with Rabbi Josh!
Join Rabbi Josh on Sunday, September 20, 2026, for the LiveOnNY Donor Heroes 5K at Flushing Meadows Corona Park—a meaningful run/walk honoring the heroes of organ and tissue donation. This is more than just a 5K; it’s a chance to come together as a community, celebrate life, and support a vital cause.
Whether you’re a runner, walker, or cheerleader, I’d love for us to show up as a team from our synagogue. Let’s move with purpose and make a difference—together.
Pick "Astoria Center of Israel (ACI)" as your 5K team!
